Expert Plant Care

- Expert Care for Orchids -

Keep the orchid in a place that receives natural, filtered light throughout the day. Orchids enjoy warmer temperatures and humid environments so avoid direct sunlight and chilly temperatures. Water the orchid once a month, using a spray bottle, aiming below the leaves at the base of the plant, and spray 3-5 pumps only. Orchids from our shop are potted in sealed containers with no draining; please be careful not to overwater. At the end of the bloom cycle, bring back the container and purchase a fresh orchid variety of your choice and we'll repot it for you.

- Expert Care for Bromeliads -

Keep the Bromeliad in a place that receives bright, filtered light throughout the day. Bromeliads enjoy relatively humid environments, so just water the Bromeliads every 2 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out in between watering. Pour just enough water to fill the center well of the leaves. Bromeliads from our shop come in sealed containers with no draining; please be careful not to overwater.

The brightly colored bloom of the Bromeliad lasts for several months. When it eventually dries out and loses its color, trim it off at the base and enjoy the Bromeliad as a green plant. In time, new off shoots called “pups”, may develop to the side of the original bloom and take about 2-3 years to fully mature into a new bloom. If you’d rather not wait for the new bloom, bring back the container and purchase a fresh Bromeliad variety of your choice. We’ll repot it for you!

- Expert Care for Succulents -

Place the succulent in an area where it will receive bright, filtered light throughout the day. Water every 2 weeks with a spray bottle,  gently lifting the succulents to expose the roots and spraying 3-5 pumps. Succulents retain water within their leaves, so they do not need a lot of water. It is important to let them dry out in between watering to prevent rotting.

- Expert Care for Pony Tail Palms -

Pony Tail Palms are great long-lived indoor plants. Their growth is slow, so they can remain in the same container for several years. Pony Tail Palms can tolerate a wide spectrum of temperatures, and enjoy a good balance of bright to filtered light throughout the year. Their hearty trunk acts as a water reservoir, therefore do not require much attention or water. Water the Pony Tail Palm once a month by  pouring 1-2 ounces of water at the base of the trunk.

- Expert Care for Botanical Art -

Botanical art arrangements, each uniquely created with succulents, air plants, and dried materials, are designed to last for approximately 6 months with little care and attention. Place the botanical art in a place that receives bright, filtered light during the day.  Water approximately every 2 weeks using a spray bottle and spraying 3-5 pumps to the back root area of the succulent and to the center well of the air plant. When the plants have retired, you may bring it back to purchase fresh plants and we will redesign it for you.
